Q: Why do you have a Brutalist Website?
A: We are four writers, we began to send mails each other, then we shared Google Docs. After that we decided to gather all the Google Doc links in a Google Sheet that we opened to public. At the end, we wanted to offer a better reading experience with generous font sizes and margins, so we used the google sheet API to display the texts in this below interface. It is a brutalist approach since we didn't want to ship Medium articles, we are always looking for a fast, bold and independent way to share our texts.
Q: Who designed the website?
A: We iterate all together about the design. As the number of text is growing fast, we try to think about the scalability of our design.
Q: Who coded the website?
A: We coded Romaine ourselves with React.js and hosted it on Firebase.
Q: With what kind of editor?
A: We wrote 1000 lines of code in Brackets, the final code generated 4000 lines after the compilation of all the libraries. All feedbacks are welcome! And sorry, we currently write our texts in french ;)
