Q: Why do you have a Brutalist Website?
A: An increasing amount of devices are listening to us 24/7. My research indicates that under the Fourth Amendment, if you have installed a device that's listening and is transmitting to a third party, then you've waived your privacy rights under the Electronic Communications Privacy Act. Reasonable privacy doesn't exist. We need to be cognizant of this. Surveillance is a big issue, and it's important that projects like this + others respond, so that we keep a reasonable degree of privacy. The range of human behavior changes dramatically if we think we are being watched. People becomes much more compliant and conformist and consequently people make decisions not the result of agency, but rather the mandates of societal orthodoxy. The design of the websites reflects these ideals.
