code-in-context (Adam Howard)

Q: Why do you have a Brutalist Website?
A: Creative people get tempted to make complex, flashy websites for themselves. That feels like a bit of a trap to me. A simple site means more time for more important things
Q: Who designed the website?
A: Me. I wanted to reference my technical background but still display prose in a readable manner. Programmers will recognise that the style comes straight from the UNIX manual (or "man") pages that are still used in terminals today

Q: Who coded the website?
A: I did. It's static HTML and CSS which makes it really simple to host and maintain. I found an open source stylesheet for rendering "man" pages and used that as a base. Most of that's gone now and the site's a little more readable and accessible.
Q: With what kind of editor?
A: I used Vim; it's a powerful old-school text editor. Useful in cases like this when you need to manage repetition without templating.
