Q: Why do you have a Brutalist Website?
A: I wanted my site to function as a kind of idea stream where viewers can both actively read the content and be exposed subconsciously to multiple bits of information at once. Using marquees was an effective way to take advantage of horizontal screen real estate and display modular bits of content simultaneously. I’m also interested in the idea of creating digital experiences that are intentionally difficult to navigate. In the real world nothing is seamless or without friction, and its deceitful to present a digital environment as such.
