Q: Why do you have a Brutalist Website?
A: This website is the result of two personal responses… a developer offering to build my site as long as my designs were with them by the end of the week (this was a Tuesday afternoon) and also a stark contrast to the intimidatingly beautiful websites out there by other designers.

There’s more than a handful of designers out there whose work I have a huge respect for, and this is like a dialogue with me. It’s not necessarily “inspiration”. What is inspiration when your peers have created great showcases for their already great work? If you take ownership of your work, it’s unique to you. The style of this site is purely me, and accidentally a “brutalist website”. The dialogue I’ve created for myself, is that this is literally the blankest canvas I could have each time I share a new project or random thought in my notes section.

It’s almost impossible to create a site where the interface doesn’t influence how the work is perceived but this is what I’m hoping to achieve here. One of my personality traits is that I literally find everything interesting. This is why I was drawn to Graphic Design when I was a teen as it was my opportunity to be creative and work with clients from a a broad spectrum of industries, hopefully this site shows my skillset, interest and some of my personality.
