oioioi.io (Alex Murray)

Q: Why do you have a Brutalist Website?
A: The project that is currently up on oioioi.io experiments with the visualisation of data streams. The aesthetics constantly change because the functionality is directly tied to the input/output of capital in global trading indices. When the live markets reach points of extreme growth or decay, the shape becomes an all-consuming topology of network exchange. It's important to understand that changes in capital, whilst an intangible and abstract economic and digital transaction, have very tangible and physical impacts. Its aesthetic rawness therefore lies in its honesty.

Q: Who designed the website?
A: Alex Murray. The typeface was designed by Mads Wildgaard from bold-decisions.biz.
Q: Who coded the website?
A: Alex Murray. It's simply a static site that functions as a notepad for ideas. The experiments are messily coded straight onto the live server. The site will expand as I complete other art projects that I have been working on.
Q: With what kind of editor?
A: Atom.
